illegal. >> reporter: candidates obvious hand out ballots before they go to the polls. this year martin o'malley handed out a sample ballot of who the governor is endorsing. but a very similar-looking ballot making its way through prince george's county. and some candidates say it is all wrong. >> reporter: angela says she knew something was wrong as soon as it arrived at her parents's office. >> it has me listed as a candidate for state's attorney as well as for the court. >> on the official sample ballot the democratic party has endorsed her for states' attorney. that's the reality ballot on the left. the fake one is on the right. and it looks very similar. buildup she -- but she says it is the details that give it away. >> the worst part is this is an illegal document. it lists citizens for change. no such entity is registered with the state of maryland. >> reporter: they say state

senator anthony mues. but but once you open it it says to vote for the opposition. >> it is a felony offense to have an organization that doesn't exist. >> reporter: his opponent albert chapman. and house and candidate valderama and house candidate jerry mathis. because he saw their supporters handing out the fake ballots during early voting in oxenhill. >> i went to the three candidates who were the primary ones carrying it. these are fraudulent you can't carry these. but having potential lawmakers say to me i don't care if we are broking the law. we will carry them for three days. that was basically the response until the police actually went out to make these candidates put down these ballots. running for office is frankly one of the things that made me decide to leave politics to start with. >> reporter: glen ivy says the real problem is the criminal

investigation will take much longer than the election. so there is really only one way to punish those responsible. >> make sure you figure out who is doing this and punish them at the ballot. >> reporter: trisha thompson, fox 5 news. again citizens for change does not exist. so far there appears to be nothing on the fake ballots that honestly identify the people behind it. we called all three candidates. the senators accused of creating the fake ballots but have not as yet received a response. a developing story in northeast washington, d.c. where two teenagers have been shot in a driveby. one is seriously hurt with a bullet to the thigh. the man is believed to be in his 20s. we don't know where he was shot. it happened at 7:00 tonight here at 53rd and clay. police are looking for a silver car involved in the shooting. a warning for students at the university of maryland college park. watch your back. an alert went out after another student got mugged and beat up. it is the third off-campus attack in just one week. a student was walking home at

2:00 in the morning when four people attacked him. it happened at hartwick and princeton avenue. police are urging students and residents alike to keep their guards up. >> just always be aware. make sure you walk with someone else. don't walk late at night. >> i go down there by myself but never out here or at night. i usually go with a friend. >> if i ever feel threatened or if i ever feel that there is something, i would just try to call 911. >> a group on august 29th was mugged by three people. they were waiting in a bus. and one of them was robbed. two days before that, a similar one just down the street in the parking lot of the clarion inn. police don't know if they are linked yet. >> police turned a restaurant into a drive-thru. the driver slammed into meat in a box sending brick tumbling and the front window was crack. no one was inside the restaurant. the driver is expected to be okay. the cause of that crash is not yet known. still no cause for this fire in northeast washington,

d.c. it raised through a home destroying everything inside. this is how the home looked when crews arrived. charred smoking flames shooting into the air. the fire burned every part of the home. the front porch collapsed as firefighters tried to enter. luckily, though, no one was hurt and no one was inside the home. >> president obama unveiling yet another move to fix our economy this week. mr. obama will visit cleveland and milwaukee. aides confirm the president will propose a permanent extension of a popular tax credit. the break for research done in the u.s. also under consideration by the obama white house is an extension of hiring incentives and a payroll tax holiday. >> my reaction is that we always like to see a death-bed conversions. but the fact is if we would have done this kind of thing nearly a couple of years ago we would be in a lot better shape. >> not a death-bed conversion. a series of tax cuts for businesses. butin looking at the pace of the recovery thank shrinking or growing. >> aides say mr. obama will ask

congress to close corporate tax breaks for multinational corporations, oil and gas companies. thousands of voters are taking advantage of the labour day weekend to take care of some early voting. city officials opened up four new early voting locations saturday in washington, d.c. and they said more than 3300 voters showed up to cast their ballots. people are getting out and doing it. the centers were closed today but re-opened from 8:30 until 7:00 at night. september 14th is primary day in the district. >> a maryland man trapped in a trench. we are everywhere at 11. it happened this afternoon in district heights, prince george's county. the man was part of a crew from a waterproofing company working at an apartment complex. he was buried when the trench he was in collapsed. the rescue crews eventually dug him out. he was taken to shock trauma in baltimore in critical condition. >> a pilot dead, a passenger hurt after a single engine plane slammed upside down on south florida highway. witnesses ran to the wreck trying to get the two men out as fast as they could. the cessna had just taken off from a nearby airport but it

[ music ] talk about a great weekend so far. we've had plenty of sunshine. very low humidity i it's been really comfortable out. there here is look at our highs. 82 at national airport. right on the mark. 79 for dullhes and 78 for baltimore. but it was a great day there. and then for the highs for today. a little cooler as we move into the overnight hours. a ridge of high pressure is building in. that's keeping our skies really clear. we don't really have any clouds to speak about. that will hold until we move into tomorrow. it will get a little chilly especially to the western
